Safe Haven Center Services

Crisis Hotline 24/7, 365 days a year -- An advocate is available to speak with you at any time. We strongly encourage you to call whenever you are in the crisis stage. The advocate can provide emotional support (but not counseling) and provide information about referrals to other Safe Haven services or community services.

Individual Therapy (counseling) -- is provided by master's level therapists who specialize in helping survivors overcome or cope with the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder and other issues related to abuse. Therapy begins with an intake appointment with a therapist, followed by regularly scheduled sessions of about one hour in length. Therapy is tailored to meet the individual needs of the survivor. Therapy is voluntary, confidential, and free of charge.

Groups -- To assist with the recovery process, victims sometimes find it helpful to work with other survivors of child sexual abuse and/or sexual assault. Groups may focus on a particular topic — such as learning coping skills — or serve as peer support.
