Therapy Services

Adult Therapy

Therapy or counseling is provided by master's level therapists who specialize in helping victims as they recover and become survivors.

Therapy is available to victims of sexual assault or rape, regardless of when the crime occurred. Adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse may also receive Safe Haven therapy services.

Play Therapy

Play therapy is a specialized form of therapy for children who have been sexually abused. It gives children the opportunity to express their feelings and communicate about the trauma through non-verbal expression. The specially trained master's level therapist can assess and understand the child's emotions and experiences and find creative solutions to heal the child's trauma. Play therapy can be effective for children as young as age 2.

Groups

A variety of groups are offered to assist victims in the recovery process. Some are tailored to a specific population, such as male survivors. Others may focus on a particular topic such as learning coping skills after an assault. Groups may be ongoing or short-term. Participation is always voluntary.
